From my previous blog, I have been observing my backyard as a substitute to my chickens which equals to X. (get it?) Well never mind. Recently I've been looking around my backyard and there's some dirt bumps near the house. These dirt bumps had a stench to it. From my past blogs, I mentioned a feline who is always at my porch and begging for food. Don't worry I feed the stray cat for the animal lovers out there. Field-notes 4/11
Cats are very intelligent animals, although they tend to look lazy and just sit around there actually not that bad I could quite say they are clean animals. Why clean animals? Well the dirt bump is actually the cat's doing. From my experience, I saw my grandpas cat named Rosey take a number two infront me.(gross!) After she's taken care of her business she covered up with dirt. I guess cats don't like smelling their own feces so they bury it. Here is a video showing a cat burying their waste. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ET5YTz1laWo It fascinates me that they bury their own waste instead of waiting for the owner to pick it up and to dispose of it properly. Watching that video made me realize that cats are clean but also independent. I can just imagine myself giving the stray cat a walk, and watching her bury it. (Saves me the trouble.)
The stray cat is intelligent, but one of the dirt bump wasn't completely covered so I saw the poop and smelled it as well, and I personally can say that it was sickening. The stray cat turned my backyard into a graveyard for her poop! (Poop zombies) Well I got to give the cat some slack, when you have to go you have to go. Field-notes 6/11
Although the cat isn't mine, the cats been accompanying me for about a couple of months now. I am proud to say that this stray cat has become my companion, and I finally named her, instead of calling her hobo cat for the past months. I named her Sapphire, because she possesses these really beautiful blue eyes that sparkle, and shows it off when she asks for food. I don't mind if she stays, she will always be welcome on my porch.

Honestly cats have always freaked me out and I really don't like being around them. For that reason I never had an interest in learning about them. But I honestly think it's cool how they clean up after themselves.
ReplyDeleteI am honestly very glad to hear that cats are clean animals because I should be getting a kitten soon. I have heard from a lot of cat owners that teaching a cat to use the litter box is a lot easier than teaching a dog to go out and do its business. I'm not sure if that is entirely true, I guess it depends on many things. Well anyways its good to hear that in the absence of your chickens you now have a new companion, congrats!
