Dark seed

Ever since my parents massacred my beloved chickens and eventually ate them, I've been surveying my backyard for something that will intrigue me. I still havn't given up on my chicken observing routine. Since my grandma has some chickens, I'll probably ask her very soon if I could borrow at least one of her chickens to observe. Hopefully she says yes, and this time im guarding that chicken from my chicken killing parents.

After surveying my back yard I stumbled upon these baseball sized seeds, but a bit smaller. The seeds were black and there was a lot of them as if someone has gathered them in one spot. The seeds were in the middle of my backyard. I examined the seeds more and it has curvy lines that Mother Nature has engraved within in it. I looked around the area if I could find where these seeds originated from. I used my five senses, but I couldn't smell because I had a runny nose, I already felt the seed which was kind of rough, I didn't use taste because the seed looked old and dirty, I mostly relied on my eye sight for the moment. Field-note 10/30

There was a peach tree in my backyard, so I'm guessing thats where the seed originated, but I have never seen a peach seed that dark before. The seeds must of been there for a long time. I've researched on these peach seeds and what I found was pretty interesting, peach seeds if broken open to reveal the almond shape kernel within. That's actually what almonds are made of. Its crazy how one simple seed could be of fascinating yet complex.
